finally after having read so many reviews about it... the desserts were all nicely done *got hotel standard* i mean it has to right? since that's what the shop prides itself for - french desserts but was a tad disappointed lor. the cakes on display don't seem to be on the menu so you can't really order from your table. you basically point to the waitresses directly which cake caught your fancy then drinks le? bring the menu up to them and order? ~_~ we had the famous jupiter cake *last one on display i believe* most of the popular desserts which we wanted to try were sold out. for ice cream i only had rose petal and earl grey ice cream to choose from! fanciful place yes but as customer i wld like to be satisfied with being served my choice of food. maybe they were too busy with another of their new restaurant next door macaron..
after that makan again around that area at sugisawa...had this bento set for only $18 not bad wor
you know i'm not the most technology savvy person around. basic maneuvering of the computer aka endless surfing of the internet that's about it. 3G is beyond me i just know it's like video conferencing and you have to pay for it on top of your basic phone bill subscription. years before there were the mini discs which very much surpassed compact discs because of their miniature sizes. but the whole phase passed even before i could get myself one and start learning how to use it. and now we're fast forwarded into an era of ipods and mp4s....
i've been spotting people on the trains playing their nintendo ds lite or psp something which totally eludes me btw. my dear brother has got a champagne psp *very chio* and i tried miserably to play on it even though i had no idea which button makes the 'game character' move forward o_O kinda sad huh? but the thing is with technology it's a learning process which never stops yet is never too difficult to pick up. well at least for the younger generation nowadays. that's probably because all gadgets are designed to be user-friendly with instructions manual and all. and their major selling point idiot-proofy so that it can reach a wider consumer base. the least you could do is reject such advancement and not let yourself be caught up in a mad mad world. this reminds me of angie who absolutely doesn't bother about mundane matters as the above. she used to own a samsung clamshell phone which she claimed had such low memory she had to keep deleting the pictures and messages in order to save new ones. this i reckon is pretty true since i had the former unpleasant experience myself the 'what-nots' from the same brand. that is until i accompanied the poor girl to trade-in her phone for a brand new nokia one. thereafter the sales girl informed her that she had alot of dark/black pictures stored in memory. apparently the self portrait mode of the phone allows users to take pictures when it is closed hence the button is easily activated thereby taking unnecessary pictures unknowingly. the hilarious part is that she knows about the black pictures but deleted her pictures instead of the black ones because well she thought it's supposed to be there. i rest my case.
on the other hand it is understandable for my parents having survived stone-age to be the ones having difficulties comprehending simple technological lingo. yes sad to say they do have trouble using a mobile phone. gah! how difficult is that? let me just explain to you that to them a mobile phone is a free object that comes along with a plan. so why not get it? but having said that they rarely carry it out unless i force them to as i wanted them to remain contactable at times. duh. which is the whole purpose of a mobile phone. my dad would have left his nokia phone in its crisp new packaging thinking it would increase in value being an antique if i hadn't ripped open it. anyway during my recent overseas trips i've managed to teach them how to dial out and receive calls. same as cordless phone wat. but messaging. phew sms is a totally new world for them especially having to spell out english words using alphanumeric buttons! eh they are chinese educated one hor? so in that sense technology to them stopped at the wonders of tv and video tapes which they could record and watch their favourite soap opera.
sometimes i'm not sure if they know what i mean by online. recently i told them one of my ex-student msn me to say that he is in hk too. 'do you still contact him?' 'not really we can see each other online' 'how does he know you're in hk?''well he saw eh my alias/nick''oh??''aiyah he talked to me over the internet la' i can somehow imagine an imagery flashing across my mom's mind of me dialling a long distance call to him via the computer =] because that's how they used to ask me to communicate to my brother in oz. 'eh you use the computer/internet to msg your brother' till now i'm not sure they understand exactly what and how internet works but they definitely know it exists because it comes up in the monthly bills! haha hmmm i wonder if i'll turn into an old fogey next time. how much more can i learn? how much more will i be bothered by such fast paced changes? will it be a reversal of role once i grow old to be exasperated by the trends of time? life on earth is too fast for me beam me up scotty *_*
ladies N gentlemen i present to you cathay pacific business class! owing to my good looks i got upgraded by the very kind service counter crew =] had smoked salmon as appetiser and rack of lamb as main ._.
tried their signature drink 'pacific sunrise' which is champagne plus lemon peel...very interesting to look at coz the pieces were bubbling up n down
stayed at REGAL hotel@causeway bay the room is large by hk stds and it's quite convenient as it has an alley full of local eateries before you hit the mtr n sogo or times square so it's right inbetween both shopping malls
random window displays of pulling rabbits out of magician's hat and the long-lost brand 雙妹嚜whose cologne water is known to repel mozzies er so you can roughly imagine what that smells like ;p
i went H&M which is only 2 streets away from my ofc but can't seem to find anything cheap like when i was in europe!! so disappointing...the blurry pic is this cool shop PALACE @IFC which is basically a cinema/cafe/bookshop IFC also has live music performances by 3 veterans right in the mall this june so it's rather nice to listen in during lunch hours
times sq and sogo it's the SUMMER SALES now and omg almost all branded goods (except the ones i want) had 30% off on last season's stock and i was so tempted to splurge again..in the end i spent S$100+ all @vertical club on the last day coz 1 dress costs like $40 only le
tried this dessert shop in front of world trade center famous for its durian puree (almost like merchant court's ellenborough cafe but this is much more dessert-style? with sago and liquefied)
i swear going to hk can be the most unhealthy trip even tho' i had lotsa of herbal tea coz most of the time i had innards for at least 1 meal a day! my fav pig's blood which you can't find in sg liao and i had the most amazing out-of-the-body experience at this congee shop behind sogo it's called 黄沙猪肝粥and this my dear is the godiva of all pig's liver it's not the normal reddish type but has a tinge of yellow and the texture is crunchy not gooey at all a must-try even for non-liver eaters!
yuMmieE d(^_^) now you may be wondering why i'm suddenly not appearing in the photos well that's coz i'm having another breakout due to the dry weather in hk i can count like 5 pimples on my nose 6 on my chin a zillion on my forehead lor so sad duncha hate puberty ( ´∀`)hohoho

wow i feel so adult now. anyway to the psycho path whom we shall fondly refer to as A.L.W.K and actually used to be our ex-colleague *shudders at the thought of sharing the same air once* i have decided to fuel your innate desire at pathetic attempts for attention. yet another police report amongst the many victims who treated you as friend. seriously if you failed to get girls that's a reason to turn wacko! why waste good money to pay for sex when you can have equal perverse fun via websms? omg you think you're so smart making use of technology like that coz no one can trace ya. i bet the losers who watch porn all day think that way too. sure. making pranks calls and disturbing your colleague's family at your age? that's very mature. goes to show what kind of disturbed family you grew up in. oh wait! did they leave you already? aaaaw. that's alright. just another excuse for you to indulge in more senseless activities being alone and everything. i wonder if your good friend in senc knows how sick you are? maybe she could persuade to see a doctor huh? meanwhile she really shouldn't let you play with her kids. tsk tsk someone should warn her. anyway i had fun retaliating and having the last laugh. next time get your facts right first moron. oh i forgot. you don't have a life do ya?
one of my previous perks which i will certainly miss! anyway i had a weekend retreat venturing into the marina area which i rarely travel to nowadays but with F1 & the IR coming up i'm sure that will change ^ ^
the staff of panpac are very kind presenting me with flowers and a handwritten card? sweet gestures like that really made my day =]
and finally i saw the fumos @action city which dear celine alerted me! this zar boh really 神通广大 nothing escapes her hehe hmmm but i din buy coz they are too bright and colourful for my taste those that i saw in japan were the much cuter versions of different quality (yah lar i felt the texture it's diff sia abit like cheap towel material gah!) the ones in sg seem to be for use as bolster or pillow like this hybrid here (if you look closely the smart consumer will be able to see the difference in texture) but i think they still look nice eh? M is ard $16.95 L ard $26...i can only hope they will slowly bring in the rest of the latest fumos =] anyway faceshop having huge gss i got like 10% off in addition to the 20% discount on some items and am officially a member thks to cynthia! whahah too bad skinfood doesn't understand the psyche of singaporeans *_*
that people think since it is public transport no one is entitled to their personal space.
don't you just hate the random idiots standing in front of you talking to each other as if you're invisible? i really ought to cough or sneeze right into their faces sometimes. you know a trick to the overbearing aunties (ks ones la) who keep pushing to the front or when in crowded situations is *ahem* to elbow them. eh u watch alot of soccer/rugby games one mah so tackle la!! *来阴的* cough cough.
that the once very high profile nkf case (which btw was only a slight blemish to our gahman since they refuse to take up any responsibilities) could let the ex-offenders get off scot-free while opposition parties like chee soon juan and jayeratnam had to be made bankrupt for speaking their minds.
it's obvious he fled due to guilt la and i'm sorry say what? the main mastermind is only charged with fabricating an invoice (mind you. the only ONE non-criminal offence he did in the huge fiasco was charging the wrong amount to a contractor and which would prob warrant a hefty fine in the end) eh when he practically duped the whole of sg into using funds for personal gains? it just shows that you have to be rich and influential to play the games of a politician in sg.
that the privatised nel reckons it's justifiable to pack commuters like sardines (as in the case of hk which happens to be twice our population lor) after they forcefully removed the cheaper mode of transport along the north-east bound roads in order to increase bottomline. buses that is. in case you've forgotten or didn't know there are now officially no direct buses that travel from orchard to north east.
sheesh means die die must take mrt lor. talk about monopoly and privatisation. public transport for the sake of public? i don't think so. can the real authority pls stand up? not just when reviewing fare hikes and examing the lapses in bus schedule every blue moon 10q.
that nets say they do not allow merchants to pass the increase in transaction fees to consumers.
duh. then to who and would anyone know the difference if they did? as banks charge higher fees because we pay on credit wld nets like to settle our bills in advance for us first? hello? it's instant coz lim peh got $ in our bank accounts le. i say gather all merchants to boycott them la as if bringing up the issue to case again wld change anything. but don't worry knowing us, we will once again accept this and forget it all in impending days.
that as if the 'bring your own bag' once every 1st wednesday of the month is gonna motivate pple (by here i mean singaporeans le) to recycle and increase awareness of preserving the environment.
aiyah i say for show only la. so that if any delegates asked we cld proudly say we did make an effort in saving the environment wat. look every 1st wed of the month the whole of sg recycles.
that some guys just do not understand that whenever they bend their elbows (to reach for that back pocket or simply scratch their bum) in close proximity to anyone behind them they are potentially able to 'molest' a lady's boobs.
T_T
that the parking at vivocity is horrendous because there are no weekends or ph rates.
wait are they encouraging you to stay there the whole day and shop? obviously not lor. just quickly grab whatever you can in sg's largest retail and lifestyle destination and get da hell OUT!
