anyone spot the similiarity between the guys in my company?
so what do you do during weekends?
this totally tops my list among the other cliché questions i hear so often. i usually gag too when i am confronted with the other #1 qn 'what is your hobby?' how am i suppose to answer that? how about 'i kill people in my spare time' or does keeping a pet troll constitute being a pastime? i have no idea why pple love to ask these kinda questions as an ice-breaker. Did they all graduate from the university of SOP - std operating procedure where their graduating thesis was on life's MUST ASK top ten questions? i had a colleague asking me what i do when i go home everyday after work (because i always reject their boys' night out drinking session ookay there's a reason for that too). so being ever polite (which is a very rare thing for me) i told him 'usually i am glued to the tv watching drama series' 'what drama series?' 'korean series' since coffee prince was my fav that time. but thereafter that bugger *any underage audience here?* went and introduced me as the girl who likes watching korean shows to anyone who sits at the same table as me. you get the picture. now i am pissed. my 29 years of life did not pass by just to be dismissed as a girl who chases korean shows tho' i am currently hooked onto 溏心風暴 is besides the point. because i have a reputation to maintain a pseudo personality which i would like the outside world to perceive me as and a unique individual who does not want to be brushed off as the 6.68th billion person out there. the secret identity of nOvie. hmmm...
anyway the point is what kind of interesting things would you expect me to be doing over the weekend that would be so different from what you normally do on a tiny island call singapore? seriously pple ask this qn for the sake of asking for the sake of gathering bits of your life so they can make their own smartass assumptions about you later on for the sake of creating conversational topics. the answer is not important i tell you because these pple don't even want to know what secret lifestyle you have (usually humans are egoistic creatures therefore they are probably waiting for you to throw back the question to them so they can start their sob life story). frankly i am sick of trying to even sound sincere in my answers. so today let me present some of my own creativity! equally lame that is:
"oh you know i try to take my yacht out for a spin when the petrol prices aren't that high and when i hit international waters that's when the dice starts rolling"
"i count the number of times the hour hand go past each numeral. it does good for the soul and mind sometimes"
"i take a chicken de-neck it drain it of its blood pluck out the feathers and dunk it in hot boiling water for a magic spell i'm working on. oh that and i like to bake too"
"i'm flying off to paris to fix my foie gras craving"
"i dunno usually my alter ego takes over during the weekends"
"i trek up bukit timah hill find a spot pitch a tent to get away from questions like this"
"i ski but you know singapore doesn't snow so there's abit of problem there..."
"i would like to tie you up and do things together like maybe starting this weekend?" *hoots* ok ok that's abit too kinky and turn-off but just for fun!
" i sleep throughout. in the animal kingdom it's known as hibernation."
"I wait for monday to come."
feel free to use any of my one-liners to liven up your day! ^_+
metropole herbal restaurant
