hanoi's hustle and bustle

Day 1: we arrived on a sunday and went in search of Phở as well as the traditional viet drip coffee but alas what we found and for days to come were just fried maggi mee and coffee *blinks* very strong coffee in a shot glass!venturing down the streets of the old quarter in hanoi...
we had a few 'roadside' experiences savouring local food and walked through dong xuan night market hmmm dried fruits (processed with ginger!) seem to be their specialty..
Day 2: a site visit to sofitel metropole where we were suppose to host the dinner wow this french colonial-style hotel sure is grand! one of the locals advised us to extend our stay to intercontinental hotel at west lake, nicer than sofitel which he could even get us better rates but we didn't manage to in the end... finally some decent jap food my fav!
Day 3: some of our other colleagues arrived and we sampled the food at the highly recommended green tangerine restaurant..followed by a USD8 body massage for 90 mins keke
Day 4: ta-dah! our booth.. one of the meeting rooms we set up for customers and a choo-choo train de-skulled shelled!
oh la la ~ nice fusion vietnamese fare for our company dinner at spices garden restaurant...
my martina pink jacket!! which i am totally in love with!
Day 5: after packing up dinner with colleagues at this italian restaurant pane e vino...their affogato di tartufo best eva!!
Day 6: on our own! we shifted to a budget hotel @USD50 per room/night which is not too bad and they offered free wi-fi...went to hoan kiem lake area where i bought my fake sneakers and oh it rained so little hanoi cafe had a power outage for like 30 mins?!we couldn't resist good food so we trotted back to sofitel's french restaurant le beaulieu for a dégustation menu...
Day 7: a little shopping in the morning before we flew home!
