HK classics

you know i watched super fans the other day well just because it's free ya' know (thks to 00 once again =]) and i got bored out of hell it's one of those b-grade show that's trying to be arty and whimsical and romantic at the same time hence it was lost on me 1/3 into the movie. it's been eons since we had decent martial arts flicks which btw is my favourite. i love fighting scenes esp those era where they had 轻功 n cld 点穴. amazes me same way as how heros cld wield superpowers in comic books (yah tell me abt spidey 3 abit disappointed le). at that time it was jet li lor he's the only master wong fei hong but this is the one that i lurved.

fong sai yuk!! got part 2 somemore...after that when he ventured into hollyw shows like black mask n fearless don't seem to do it for me either =[

mind you. last time no special effects like hero which makes even the tiniest water droplet cool or autumn leaves sexy. anyway i also happen to watch alot stephen chow movies while growing up ok which prob explains the way i am now hahaha not farnie hor. imho his best shows were in the olden days before he trained for his six packs...

justice, my foot is a classic because of anita mui so the pairing of the female lead character is very impt as well like with carina lau in 大内密探零零发 or zhang min in

OMG 逃学威龙! and his most successful has got to be the 赌圣 franchise which spoofed off the rubbing of cards n sandra ng's infamous armpit mole trying to be 绮梦 n 三叔! lol jacky cheung can be a very funny sidekick too in curry n pepper...

this is one of the classics n my fav 西游记 =) do you see the effort in dressing up in costumes like those and making the actors look like they haven bathed for mths?

of coz i watched kungfu hustle as well (remembered it was in aussie and we had to wait for someone's vcd to arrive by postage hee) alot more effects but it was HIS way of saying 'xiew lunm' (shaolin in canto) that got us tickled (how can you not watch stephen chow in cantonese? all the vulgarities are so cleverly made fun of haa wah lau screw speak chinese campaign i tell ya')

then if you have 赌圣 how could u not have the original 赌神 wor?! that said i miss chow yun fatt being funny lor him saying 'welcome to singapore' in pirates does not do him justice *humph*

there were the romantic shows as well i bet every single student was spouting 追 and just hardcore memorising the lyrics then coz it sounds so much better in dialect!! keeke

after that they did come out with a few good shows like infernal affairs (i don't just go for 无厘头 de but honestly not alot of in-depth chinese movies one wld waste $9.50 to catch and i'm not talking abt zhang yimou's type) in recent years long after 古惑仔 (long hair used to be IN) made gangsters famous but that's if you sieve thru' the whole lot of other crappy shows

and to digress you know before F4's 流星花园 i was so mad over 琼瑶! those were the days when taiwan didn't produce 偶像剧 and you just had to have a weepy drama script to get by like 六个梦 series and my 青青河边草! *kok* remember or not? or you one of those bananas from another planet one? sigh those were the days lor...ok wait wait i'm not that old >_<
